Opportunities For Group Practice in Bloomington

"...one of the most powerful supports in practicing...is that there are millions of people who are committed to mindfulness and to living a life of awareness...So that when you sit, wherever you sit, you can know that you are not alone....We are all a part of the sangha (community of practitioners), whether we know it or not, if we have even the slightest impulse to practice."
JON KABAT-ZINN in Coming To Our Senses

Yoga Mala Sangha

Meditation practice at Yoga Mala, 116 N. College Ave, is open to those with an ongoing practice.  Meetings are 8:30 - 9:30 on 1st & 3rd Fridays of each month. Meetings begin with 30 minutes of silent sitting practice followed by a brief reading and a period of sharing from personal experience of the reading. Practitioners are invited to arrive a few minutes early to allow time for settling into stillness. We will observe silence upon entering the studio. Hot tea will be available after the bell following sitting practice. Silence will be maintained until after the reading. There is no charge; generosity in the form of donations are gratefully accepted. Contributions are donated monthly to a local charity.

Please contact Nancy Lethem at 812-360-6360 if you would like to know more.
